We all hate Acne because its annoying, embarrassing and irritating and we are always on the look out for safe and effective remedies to get rid of it. But how many of us really bother to find out what’s causing it or aggravating it? Hmmm… I guess a very few of us. We all know that Prevention is better than cure so why not prevent it rather than struggling to get rid of it? If you ask me how I would say with the help of these common sense tips.
6 Simple Ways To Prevent Acne
#1 Get Your Hormone Levels Checked
You might be wondering why but lemme tell you that Hormonal Imbalance is one of the main reasons why you get acne. You might have tried tons of anti-acne products but nothing seems to be working why because your hormones are not balanced. When our hormones are not balanced it shows up on our face in the form of acne.
Be extra careful if you notice sudden weight gain, hair fall and acne because it might be an alarming sign of Polycystic Ovarian Symptoms(PCOS). Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a hormonal imbalance which occurs when female body starts to produce male hormones and body starts to act like a male body resulting in Hair Loss, Hair Growth on chest, chin and other parts of the body, sudden weight gain around the waist, severe acne etc. So make sure you get your hormone levels checked regularly if you don’t want to deal with painful and annoying acne.
#2 Change Your Pillow Cover Regularly
Changing your pillow case every alternate day can prevent acne. Pillow cover can easily absorb dirt and oil which eventually leads to acne.
#3 Change Your Hair Care Products
The reason is quite simple, there are some ingredients in your hair care products like Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Gel, Hair Spray etc. which might be the culprit behind your breakouts. If you are breaking out specially on your jawline and forehead you should switch to a different brand and see if it works. People with bangs/fringe tend to break out on forehead if they are allergic to any of their hair care products.
#4 Read Your Cosmetic Labels Carefully
Cosmetic acne is another common type of acne which is caused by some of the pore clogging ingredients.

#5 Watch Your Diet
Diet plays a very important role in dealing with acne. Avoid foods that are high in fats, say no to refined carbohydrates, processed foods and dairy products(go for soy milk instead), reduce your Sugar intake, drink plenty of water, fresh vegetable and fruit juices and include foods rich in Zinc and Vitamins to prevent acne.
#6 De-stress Yourself
Stress is another main reason why you get acne. Have you ever noticed how you break out badly when you are under stress or depression? This tip is somewhat similar to the tip #1. Stress can fluctuate hormonal level of your body which can lead to acne. So try and de-stress yourself if you want to live zit-free. The best way to de-stress is to join Yoga Classes, Meditation or Dance classes.

great tips!!
These articles are so well written. I like how you actually listed pore clogging ingredients that we can avoid and I love how you follow up with more solutions like with the vitamin B6. I think I need to try this. My breakouts are usually common around that ‘special time’.
Evening primrose oil was the most horrible experience for me. I took this for about 3 months. I had bad nausea, muscle cramps before and during my menses, the slightest wift of any scent too sweet or toxic actually made me throw up uncontrollably it was embarrassing at the office.
I’m doing things so much differently now for the past hmmmmm 10 years no coke, only water and juices especially cranberry and teas like raspberry leaf, hibiscus, rosehip. I only use vitamin e capsules as a moisturizer at night, bio oil in the day as it isn’t so greasy and my toner is rose water and sometimes witch hazel.
The break outs still occur but not so badly, so now I’m going to make a concerted effort to periodically cleaning the blood.
Now to get rid of those acne scars!
