This is one of the easiest and safest way of getting rid of blackheads. This recipe also works on Whiteheads.
You will need
2 cloves of Garlic (crushed)
1 Tbsp. Ground Oatmeal
1 drop Tea Tree Essential Oil (optional)
2-3 Drops Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
Enough Honey to make a paste
Mix everything together and apply it to the affected area, leave it on for 2 minutes and gently exfoliate for a minute. Rinse off.
Do this once a day for 3 days, if you have only a few blackheads it should clear up on day 1 itself.

Oooh this has to stink though right?
I tweeted it anyway. It sounds effective and some people may not mind the smell
Thanks Michelle:) Yeah, it doesn’t smell good but it works.
Are you getting my emails? I have sent 3-4 emails to you already but I am not too sure if you are getting them.
Garlic may have a distinct odor, but it sure does benefit the body! I’ve noticed some black heads on my nose lately (I used to use those icky sticky nose strips) and I will surely put this remedy to the test!
Leon, this sounds like a great “make it yourself” exfoliant scrub! Its so important to rejuvenate your skin every morning and to start fresh. A good scrub can really restore the appearance of elasticity, and lessen the appearance of fine wrinkles and other signs of aging. Along with the natural ingredients in your face scrub, other great all natural ingredients that work well for rejuvenating your skin are things like organic apples and organic quince, Hungarian chili peppers, white willow bark, and ground walnuts!
These sound like great ingredients for a facial scrub. Its so important to revitalize your skin and a good exfoliant is a great way to do this. These natural ingredients that are in your scrub are so much better for your skin than many of the ingredients that are in other scrubs. Some ingredients can actually harm your skin which is why organic is the way to go!
Have just done it – oh my, it was stinging and I certainly could not keep in on more than 2 minutes!!! But I tell, you I absolutely LOVED the skin after!!! Definitely will do 3 day course. Thanks
Leon,
I have to say I tried this and my skin feels so amazing, refreshed and smooth.
Due to the lack of ingredients I could find around my house, I substituted some of your ingredients.
I used unrefined flour instead of oatmeal (it has an abrasive texture too)
lime instead of lemon
and coconut oil instead of honey.
since my skin became a little too oily right after, I washed my face with a gentle cleanser.
My skin feels so wonderful! And this was only the first application!
Thank you so much, I’ve been tackling whiteheads for a while now. I hope they’ll go away after the third day!
THANKS LEON
I love natural DIY recipes for scrubs and face masks. I would have thought that this would smell like Michelle thought, but I suppose the lemon juice probably helps buffer the smell. Thanks for sharing!
Great post. I have tried many “do it yourself” acne tricks to get rid of my black heads and this one sound like it might work. I will be trying it tonight. I hope it works. If it does I will be back to comment. Thanks again.
My whiteheads are really hard to get rid of. I’m definitely going to try this and let you know how well it worked for me. Thanks for posting Leon (:
Sure Dee, would love to hear your feedback:)
I had to give this one a try myself. Yes it did sting, but the effects were amazing. I did find out, however, that if I plan to use this on a regular basis, I’ll need to get used to sleeping alone lol.
I have to give it to you, this was AMAZING! This exceeds anything I’ve ever tried and I go to a dermatologist! The only thing I changed was lemon juice with lime juice and I added some brown sugar just to give it a little more of a scrub. I got beautiful results!
Glad to hear that Jasmine
Natural is the best way to go. I will try this regimen.
I have to try this.. my blackheads are out of control! Good thing I actually like the smell of garlic!
