Green Tea and Chocolate, both are rich in Antioxidants and antioxidants do wonders for our skin by fighting  free radicals that cause damage to our skin. I use Chocolate Facial Mask at least once a week  and I love adding green tea, fruits and essential oils to it.

Green Tea is soothing, healing and it helps clear up acne and fight other signs of aging. Green Tea is a rich source of Catechins(type of Flavonoid Antioxidants) and Chocolate is another rich source of Flavonoids that help slow down the aging process. Green Tea is a wonderful detoxifier when taken internally or applied topically.

Green Tea And Chocolate Antioxidant Facial Mask Recipe

For this Recipe you will need-

1 Tbsp. Green Tea(Matcha Tea) Powder

1 Tbsp. Dark Cocoa Powder

Enough  Honey To Make a thick paste (Preferably Manuka Honey)

Mix green tea powder and cocoa powder with honey and add 2-3 drops essential oils of your choice(optional). Apply liberally on your face, avoiding the eye area and rinse off after 20 minutes.

This Recipe will make your skin softer and smoother, heal acne and regular use will delay the signs of aging.

Note: You can use Green Tea Bag(one bag should be enough for this recipe) if you don’t have powdered Green Tea. All you have  to do is cut the tea bag and use mortar and pestle to make a fine powder.

I’ve tried the mask and it smells heavenly!! Had to hold back from temptation to lick off the mask :p

However, I noticed a few more zits the day after using this mask. Could it be due to my oily and acne-proned skin now? Afterall I was only just recovering from a breakout.

    Hey Wen,

Sorry to hear about your zits, I guess its because of the detox effect, initially you may break out if you have oily and acne prone skin because this mask draws out impurities but I am sure you will see great result with regular use. Please let us all know how everything goes:)

Hees, yes I’ll definitely continue. The mask smells so nice! Could it be due to my green tea powder? I’m not using Matcha Tea powder. I bought bakeable green tea powder.

Hmmm…could be ,mine smells like chocolate:),but are you sure your green tea is in its pure form? I mean there should not be any added flavors or colors otherwise it will irritate your skin

This mask smelled heavenly! I ended up only having green tea that wasnt exactly powdered, so it turned out kind of chunky and my whole family laughed when they saw my face. But my face feels really refreshed now and I am tempted to put another mask on just for the smell!
