Our skin loses its firmness as we age. With increasing age, Collagen and Elastin levels decrease and on top of that Pollution, UV Rays and so many other factors just add to it making our skin thinner and weaker. Its very essential to keep our skin firm and well toned so that it does not get saggy .

So what’s there in these Skin Tightening Serums that are available in the market? Skin Tightening serums are being sold as ” Miracle in a Bottle”, Facelift in a bottle”, “Quick tightening Serum” and so on. The most widely used ingredients are Vitamin C, Collagen, Elastin, Copper Peptides, Seaweed Peptides and the latest discovery in Skin tightening is Dr. Perricone’s DMAE . Some of them really work and some are just waste of money(may be the proportion of these ingredients is two low to show any result). I have seen people who are getting good results using the products that contain one or more of these ingredients.

I have only used Vitamin C Serum which I found to be quite effective but then my skin couldn’t take that tingling sensation so I stopped using it. I don’t mind using natural Vitamin C (found in citric fruits) in the form of Face Pack, even these face packs gimme that tingling sensation but 15-20 minutes is definitely bearable. I trust my Spinach Sea Kelp Face Pack and Peach Face Pack and I also use lots of egg whites and Vitamin C Rich Fruits.

Here is one more Recipe that works. I don’t use Corn Flour because my skin is normal to dry but people with Oily and Combination Skin will find it really effective as it cures acne and blemishes too.

Potato Corn Flour Skin Tightening Face Pack

You’ll need-

1 Raw Potato
1 Tbsp Corn Flour
1 Tsp Honey

Grate the potato and squeeze the juice out of it. Mix corn flour and honey with this juice and apply on your face and neck. Rinse off after 15-20 minutes. You can actually feel your skin being tight.

Note: If your skin is too dry or sensitive use only Potato Juice and Honey, avoid Corn Flour as it can be too drying.
