Why Organic Skin Care?
This is the day and age when everything is either going organic or green or both. People are looking to rejuvenate Mother Earth and themselves as they revert back to their roots and become one with nature again. The trend is to move away from anything synthetic and so harmful and poisonous. We’ve graduated from organic food to organic cosmetics and beauty products which are good for our skin and our bodies. Good skin care is essential if you want to look young and keep your skin glowing and wrinkle-free the natural way, without botox and plastic surgery or cosmetics that are loaded with chemicals. It’s best to go the organic route if you’re serious about skin care because:
· The synthetic chemicals in cosmetics and other skincare products seep into your skin and cause adverse reactions in your body, from something as mild as a stomach upset to something as serious as a miscarriage.
· Perfumes and deodorants poison the air around you and get into your system and cause breathing problems and other issues when used over a period of time.
There are certain things that you need to keep in mind when using organic cosmetics and skincare products:
· You need to be careful when it comes to choosing organic skin care products by reading the labels thoroughly and avoiding products that contain these harmful ingredients.
· The best way to ensure that you buy true organic products is to look for the seal of organic certification from a reputable organization that certifies the product is free of pesticides, antibiotics, fertilizers, growth hormones, food additives or sewage sludge.
· If you think that buying organic cosmetics is going to break your budget, you could try to make your own cosmetics by buying organic products and mixing them according to instructions. You get the double benefit of saving some money and ensuring that all the ingredients are 100 percent organic.
· Beware of the word “natural” because it could mean ingredients that are derived from natural sources as opposed to those that are purely natural. Substances derived from natural ingredients may be treated with synthetic agents to make them more suitable for use.
· Beware of the use of the word “organic” because it means completely opposite things in relation to chemistry and sustainability. When we talk of organic substances in relation to chemistry, we’re referring to members of the methanol and petrochemical family. Not all substances derived from these products are safe for your skin. Organic in the context of sustainability and eco-awareness refers to a process or product that does not harm the earth and its natural resources. Learn to differentiate between these two meanings when you read labels.
Good skin care is a combination of the right foods, a sufficient amount of exercise, and good hygiene. Cosmetics and other skincare products only augment these basic measures to protect and pamper your skin. So choose your beauty products wisely, and choose to have beautiful skin.
